Course Writers receive 30% of fee A Course writer develops a complete class in the ECoach Virtual Learning Environment. Course writers can apply to develop a class in their specialist subject. It is in the interest of the writer to write a course which will attract students. Proposals from Course Writers are welcome at any time and should be sent to courses@ecoach.org.uk. If approved they will be given their own section on the ECoach Virtual Learning Environment to develop their class. When each class finishes the course writer will receive 30% of the fees received for that class when the class is completed.
Content Specialists receive aound 15% of fee (depending on how much support is required from a course developer) A content specialist may prefer to work with a Course developer. In this case the content specialist provides a knowledge base which a Course developer turns into an interactive class in the ECoach Virtual Learning Environment. Proposals from Content Specialists are welcome at any time and should be sent to courses@ecoach.org.uk. When each class finishes the Content Specialist will receive the agreed percentage of the fees, around 15%, received for that class when the class is completed.
Course Developer receive around 15% of fee (depending on how much support a content specialist requires) A Course Developer is an experienced online course writer who will work with a Content Specialist to develop an interactive class in the ECoach Virtual Learning Environment. Course Developers will usually already be a Course Writer, or have a qualification in Online Teaching. Course Developers may apply to be on the list of developers by contacting courses@ecoach.org.uk, and will be contacted when required. When each class finishes the course writer will receive the agreed percentage of the fees, around 15%, received for that class when the class is completed.
Course Tutors receive 30% of fee A Course tutor is responsible for facilitating an online class; encouraging students, offering help, explaining issues, grading work. The first choice of Course tutor would normally be the Course Writer. They will be expected to be capable of logging into a class each day that their class is running to fulfil tutor responsibilities. A Course Tutor will usually have experience of being a Teaching Assistant, or have a qualification in Online Teaching if they are not the Course Writer. Course Tutors may apply to be on the list of tutors by contacting courses@ecoach.org.uk, and will be contacted when required. When each class finishes the course writer will receive 30% of the fees received for that class when the class is completed.
Teaching Assistant NIL A Teaching Assistant is a voluntary assistant working with the Course Tutor to gain experience. A Teaching Assistant does not pay Course fees. There are a limited number of opportunities to be a Teaching Assistant, and applications can be made by contacting courses@ecoach.org.uk.
Course Sales Affiliate receive 15% of fee Anyone who registers to be a Course Sales Affiliate will have their own webpage from which they can promote and sell all available courses to prospective students. Typically the page would be a copy of the courses page on http://www.ecoach.org.uk/your-identifier/courses.htm or by arrangement, hosted on your own website. Writers, Specialists, Developers, and Tutors would normally be expected to be Course Sales Affiliates to promote their own courses. Application to be a Course Sales Affiliate should be made to sales@ecoach.org.uk. Each month a Course Sales Affiliate would receive 15% of the fees for students they have enrolled, payable once the class has started.
EXAMPLE If you write a course costing £50, introduce 10 students, and then teach the class, you will receive £350, and again £350 next time you teach it.
EXAMPLE If you share your knowledge with a Course Developer to produce a short popular class which costs £5, and is taken by 200 students each year over the next 5 years, you will receive £750. If you also teach the class you will receive an additional £1500. If you also use your advertising and recruiting skills to attract all the students, you will receive a total for your knowledge, your teaching and your recriuting of £3000.
EXAMPLE If you teach a class costing £100 written by someone else, with an average of 15 students, four times a year you will receive £1800 a year
EXAMPLE If you a write a course costing £80 which runs twice a year with 20 students, you will receive £800 a year
EXAMPLE If you find 20 students to take a class costing £50, you will receive £150
